Marouane Fellaini looking for swift Manchester United move

by jonnyescott

In the week where Manchester United had a double bid rejected for Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, newspaper reports today suggest that Fellaini is keen to make his move to Old Trafford sooner rather than later.

According to Sportsmail, Fellaini wants to join United before his fee goes up even more as he believes that playing for a dominant European club will aid his chances of going to the World Cup with Belgium if they qualify.

So with United’s interest growing increasingly stronger and Fellaini’s former gaffer at the helm at Old Trafford, he seems to have set his mind on a move to United which won’t come as a shock to most football fans.

Fellaini started his career at Anderlecht when he was just six but via Mons, R. Francs Borains and Sporting Charleroi, he ended up at Belgian giants Standard Liege which was from where he joined Everton in 2008 in a deal which was reported to be worth around the £15 million mark.

He has gone onto make over 130 appearances for Everton whilst scoring 25 goals in the process which has seen him attract interest from not just United but Chelsea too.

Fellaini has been seen as one of the Premier League’s most controversial players over the past 18 months after a run of indiscipline, which included a bizarre cameo against Stoke City where he seemed to purposely elbow Stoke players on numerous occasions.

Despite this resulting in the 25-year-old Belgian being fined and suspended by his club, some United fans believe that he is the type of player which has been missing from the team since the likes of Bryan Robson and Roy Keane retired.

Everton are not too keen to sell either Baines or Fellaini but if the price is right, then it will be hard to turn down.

There is no doubting the fact that this story isn’t over yet, but whether it will drag on to the last day of the transfer market, only time will tell.
