Gareth Southgate has named five Manchester United players in his first squad as England U21 manager.
England will be taking part in their European qualifiers next month ahead of the 2015 European Championships, so try and pick the winning bet as Southgate aims to inject some new life into England’s U21s squad.
Michael Keane, Tom Thorpe and Jesse Lingard all keep their places after England thumped Scotland 6-0 and have been joined by Nick Powell and Wilfried Zaha, who has stepped back into the U21s after his call up to the senior squad this month.
Powell has only just recovered from surgery he underwent last season and it is great to see Southgate put faith in him straight away. He scored on his return to United’s U21s squad and always looks a class above the players around him whenever he plays at that level.
Here is the team selection in full.
