Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that Nani has signed a contract extension with Manchester United.
There has been widespread speculation this summer linking Nani with a move away to Juventus or big spending duo Monaco and Paris St Germain but according to Marotta, Nani won’t be leaving Old Trafford any time soon.
“Nani has renewed his contract with Manchester United and we never had a deal,” he told Tuttojuve.
The 26-year-old was reportedly offered to Galatasaray for just €10 million and United would have been foolish to sell him at that price off the back of what was a poor season from the Portuguese winger.
Nani suffered his first major injury last year and spent more time on the treatment table than the pitch but he is ready to take this season by the horns and get back to his best.
Speaking earlier this summer, he said:“I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals.
“Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together.”
It is great news. Nani may polarise fans with his performances but few could argue against the fact that he is one of the best wingers in the Premier League when he is on form, so it was important that David Moyes kept him at the club especially considering that Wilfried Zaha has been our only attacking purchase this year.
