David de Gea – The Spanish keeper will be looking for a third clean sheet in four games this season on Sunday.
Phil Jones – The versatile Englishman has been filling in for Rafael and right-back and can be expected to continue doing so against Liverpool.
Rio Ferdinand – Moyes’ apparent preference for experience has shown so far in his selections, therefore Ferdinand is a probably starter away at Anfield.
Nemanja Vidic – United’s captain can be expected to partner Ferdinand given his imperious start to the year.
Patrice Evra – Patrice can expect boos and jeers on Sunday from the Suarez fan boys but it doesn’t usually affect him. Hopefully he will react with another stellar performance.
Antonio Valencia – Right-midfield is a tough position to predict but Valencia’s defensive capabilities are likely to secure him a spot in the team on Sunday. Last time, his marauding run won the penalty that Van Persie converted to secure three points.
Michael Carrick – Carrick has started this season as he finished last, dominant in midfield. May he continue that against Liverpool.
Tom Cleverley – Cleverley is set to start as he proves himself to be Moyes’ preferred partner for Carrick.
Ryan Giggs – The experience of Giggs may earn him a start on Sunday at a ground that Sir Alex Ferguson often picked the Welshman.
Wayne Rooney – After a good showing against Chelsea, Rooney is set to start again on Sunday.
Robin van Persie – Van Persie will be looking for his third goal in three Premier League matches against United’s rivals.
We can expect the standard United formation to be employed on Sunday. Danny Welbeck may have to settle for a place on the bench which may seem harsh after recent performances but his rivals for a position may be more suited to a tough game away at Anfield.
This is United’s last game for 13 days so Moyes is unlikely to have any concern over resting players. He will pick his strongest available XI.
