Manchester United have secured Real Madrid winger Fabio Coentrao on a season long loan.
The 25-year-old’s name had not been mentioned at all in this transfer window but David Moyes has brought in a left back after missing out on Leighton Baines.
Coentrao is a very smart piece of business by Moyes. A versatile left footed player, Coentrao is comfortable playing either at left back or at left wing and has also been known to play comfortably in central midfield too.
United’s wingers were extremely poor last season and Coentrao should bring a new dynamic to our threat from the wings.
Update – Despite the English press confirming that Coentrao has become a United player, reports from Spain suggest that his papers may not have been sent in time so the deal is yet to be fully confirmed.
