OFFICIAL: Marouane Fellaini joins Manchester United in a £27.5m deal

Manchester United have completed the signing of Marouane Fellaini from Everton in a £27.5 million deal the Merseyside club has confirmed.

The Belgian international will bring some much needed physicality to United’s midfield and he could prove to be a fantastic partner to Michael Carrick.

Up until a few weeks ago, Fellaini had an active £23.5 million release clause that Ed Woodward decided not to activate and he instead waited until right at the end of the transfer window to complete the deal for him.

While Fellaini is a great signing for the club that finally sees United bring in a midfielder, there is discontent among United fans at the way that the club let a deal for Ander Herrera slip through their fingers with some amateur negotiations in Spain.

The 25-year-old is yet to be officially unveiled by the club and he will be given a squad number this week.
