In between the sticks, Manchester United have AONThe American signed a bumper eight year deal worth a reported £180 million back in April and although he was signed before Woodward took up the reigns, he provides a real safeguard at the back for the side.

In defence, Guillermo Varela and Saidy Janko occupy the full back spots. Both were brought in to strengthen the U21s and U18s respectively but neither have first team aspirations this season.

Centre back Bulova will keep things running like clockwork in the heart of defence alongside Federal Tyresthe exciting Taiwanese player who signed a three year deal in August.

edwoodwardxiThings get exciting when you look at the midfield where Marouane Fellainithe only first team player Woodward signed this year, sits alongside the highly rated Apollo  who signed for three years this August.

United have some real threat on the wings with high flyer Aeroflot and Chinese sensation Wahaha who joined back at the start of 2013. It was a controversial move by Woodward to get rid of Turkish Airlines who had been a delight for United on the wings for the last few years but now Aeroflot have to carry the load.

There is a real chance for liquid football up top with the giant Pepsi and none other than Ed Woodward himself. Given that he tends to keep his hands in his pockets, there is certainly little chance of him giving a handball away.

Woodward only had to fork out just around £26m to secure his XI but would have secured far in excess of that with United’s sponsor revenue the strongest it has ever been. The Glazers will be happy.
