Jesse Lingard has joined Birmingham City on a one month loan deal from Manchester United which allows him to stay at the club up until 20 October.
As The Peoples Person discussed yesterday, Lingard had been lined by Championship side Birmingham and the deal has now been completed.
Lingard is yet to make his senior debut for United but after an extremely good pre-season tour where he was named top scorer with four goals, he has earned himself the opportunity to go out on loan again.
Out on the Asian tour, Lingard showed he had the stamina and endurance to play in even the most humid conditions and for a 20-year-old, he showed composure and maturity beyond his years.
Last year, he had a spell at Leicester City but struggled to get first team appearances in their promotion push so he will be hoping for more game time on this loan spell in the Championship.
In the past, Birmingham took bad boy Ravel Morrison on loan from West Ham and they gave him a platform on which he has built his recent success on. This week, he made his Premier League debut for the Hammers.
It is hoped that the Midlands club can have a similarly positive effect on Lingard and while the deal is only for one month at the start, should the 20-year-old impress it could be extended for the whole season.
Birmingham are precariously placed on the edge of the relegation zone having only earned four points from their opening seven fixtures. Lingard will go straight into the squad and could feature this Saturday in their home fixture against Sheffield Wednesday.
