Loan Round Up: Vermijl keeps clean sheet in 8-0 victory, Powell has City cameo in loss

Bébé (Paços de Ferreira) – Bébé started in Paços’ Monday night fixture against Vitoria de Setubal. He moved around a fair bit – sometimes playing on the left, sometimes on the right.

He had a long range shot saved by the keeper on 26 minutes when he cut inside from the right. Paços were reduced to ten men but managed to come back from a goal down to get a draw and their first point of the season.

Marnick Vermijl (NEC Nijmegen) – Vermijl started for NEC in their KNVB Beker second round tie against amateur side Harkemase Boys. NEC won the game comfortably 8-0 so it was a relatively easy night for Vermijl. It’s NEC’s first clean sheet this season and hopefully the result will spur them on in the league.

Nick Powell (Wigan Athletic) – Powell was named on the bench for Wigan’s clash with Manchester City. He was brought on in the 80th minute but apart from being awarded a free-kick after being fouled by Yaya Toure, he didn’t have too much involvement. The match ended in a 5-0 loss for Wigan.
