Wayne Rooney can’t his his happiness at getting one over on Liverpool after the disappointment of the derby on Sunday.
The 27-year-old has been Manchester United’s star performer so far this year. Ever since returning from injuries that hampered his pre-season, he has been fantastic.
And on Rooney’s official Facebook page, he admitted it was always a great feeling to beat Liverpool and it was even better given that it followed the derby defeat.
Against our two biggest rivals this week, Rooney put in great shifts and has now played a role in eight out of our last ten goals.
Given how silent Rooney was during the transfer saga this summer, it is good to see that he is once again interacting with the fans. His situation at United might be far from rosy but he isn’t letting it affect his performances on the pitch.
It was always a case of just finding his hunger again and Rooney looks like he has found it. The spark is back.
