David Moyes explains Wilfried Zaha absence

by Sam Peoples

David Moyes has every intention of giving Wilfried Zaha the chance to impress for Manchester United this season but has admitted that the 20-year-old has to be patient.

Fans have been excited to see what Zaha can do in the Premier League after his impressive form during the pre-season but because of the difficult start to the year, Moyes has chosen not to risk him.

“Wilf is one of the boys we have not been able to have a look at so far,” Moyes said.

“We always said we wanted him in. We needed him to see exactly what the level is like and the boy is doing well.

“But Premier League games are important. We have to win them. So whilst there will be some players who get the opportunities sooner rather than later some will have to wait their time because it is a fact you can only play 11.”

As we said earlier today, Zaha simply has to bide his time before getting his opportunity in the Premier League this year and Moyes’ comments have confirmed that.

United fans will always have a soft spot for young, exciting and confident wingers so everyone wants to see Zaha in action. Now that United are about to hit a run of winnable games, Zaha will get his chance.
