Januzaj’s former coach unsurprised at rise to fame as he was a genius at every age

Adnan Januzaj‘s former coach Jean Kindermans is not surprised at his meteoric rise into Manchester United’s senior team as he was always head and shoulders above his fellow players at every level.

Januzaj has played in levels above his age throughout his career. He was 12 when he played with Anderlecht’s Under-14s and 14 when he played with their Under-16s.

He continued that trend at United as he was 16 when he played with the Under-18s, 17 when he played with the Under-21s and he now plays with the senior team at the age of 18.

“Adnan was a nice player,” Kindermans, Anderlecht’s academy director, told Sky Sports News

“Technically, he was very skilled and intelligent on the pitch and he was a hard but silent worker.

“He was a quiet boy but now when I see him playing for Manchester United, he hasn’t changed much.

And speaking to De StandaardKindermans continued to speak highly of Januzaj and cited his focus as one of his most impressive traits even from a young age.

He said: “Januzaj is a prime example for youth players. No weird haircuts, no earrings and no tattoos.

“His dad was at every match making sure his kept his feet firmly on the ground.

‘That wasn’t always easy. Adnan was 14 or 15 years of age and watched how other of his age went towards national youth teams.

“He also wanted to do that but he thought the academy was the most important thing. And he has been proven to be right.”

Januzaj has gone from playing with United’s Under-18s to the first team within the space of 12 months and the way he is currently progressing, the sky is the limit for him.

Negotiations have now become a priority for David Moyes since his match winning performance the weekend and The Peoples Person will keep you up-to-date with the latest news regarding his current contract situation with United.
