Wilfried Zaha joined up with England’s Under-21s for training ahead of their Euro 2015 qualifiers this week and showcased exactly why David Moyes should give him a chance with Manchester United’s first team.
The 20-year-old’s lightning quick feet and ferocious acceleration over the first few yards, as well as a wicked a shot at the end of it, were all on show during training. Zaha looked every bit as exciting as he did on the pre-season tour of Asia where he was one of Untied’s stand-out players.
It has been perfectly understandable that Zaha hasn’t played so far because it has given him time to improve at United. His finishing was poor on the tour despite his impressive overall performances and it is something he has been working on if this training video from the FA is anything to go by.
Zaha will be in action away to San Marino on Thursday and given that Gareth Southgate has started him in both games so far, he could be in line for another start. Up against San Marino, he would have plenty of opportunity to impress.
