Manchester United are on the verge of securing a new £300 million five year sponsorship deal with Nike that would make it the biggest of it’s kind in football according to The Mirror.
The current deal is worth £23.5 million but this new deal would see that figure doubled to a staggering £60 million.
United had a record turnover this year after a swathe of sponsorship deals were secured by Ed Woodward and co. this summer but because of this deal, turnover is expected to jump once again and exceed the £400 million per year mark.
United are a real powerhouse when it comes to global market power and this new deal from Nike shows that. The current biggest sponsorship deal is Real Madrid who are paid £31 million a year by Adidas but this would eclipse that.
Nothing is yet confirmed between the club and Nike but it would be a surprise to see us move away from Nike given our long working relationship with them.
