The 18-year-old came off the bench to help inspire a dramatic turnaround to further show his importance to the team as his direct style of play brought some much needed attacking impetus to the team.
Van Persie admitted that he sees a young version of himself in Januzaj but made it clear that he is a player in his own entity rather than the shadow of anybody else.
“He is a top player and I’m a big fan of his,” he said.
“I’ve seen a lot of young players down the years but I would have to say that he is in the top one or two.
“I see similarities in his game to mine ten years ago, but he’s not the new van Persie, he’s the new Adnan.”
For someone so young to cope with the pressure so well is a rarity, especially at a club like United, but Januzaj just gets better with every performance.
Van Persie would have seen plenty of talented from his time in Holland so it is high praise indeed to label Januzaj as one of the top two young talents he has ever watched.
