David Moyes has insisted that while he has his reservations about how much good business can be done in the January transfer window, Manchester United will be looking to bring in the best players in order to strengthen the team.
An underwhelming summer left United short in the central midfield department despite the arrival of £27 million man Marouane Fellaini and it is expected that Moyes will once again make a move in the market to bring in another central midfielder in January.
“January is never the best window but Manchester United are always interested in the best players so if they are there we will try to get them,” Moyes said after the game against Fulham.
It was the same stance that Moyes adopted during the summer but it wasn’t something that United succeeded in doing after failed pursuits of Cesc Fabregas, Ander Herrera, Sami Khedira and Fabio Coentrao to name a few.
Moyes admitted he felt that the squad wasn’t as strong enough as he’d like to be and hopefully Ed Woodward and co. have learned from the mistakes this summer so will be more productive in the future windows, starting with January.
