Rafael, Jonny Evans and Tom Cleverley are all doubts for Manchester United’s Champions League tie against Real Sociedad this week as is Patrice Evra who also picked up a knock that mars the victory over Fulham today.
The trio were taken off at half-time while Evra recovered to play the full 90 minutes but he didn’t look entirely comfortable after he suffered a knock in the first half.
Speaking to MUTV after the full time whistle, Moyes confirmed that there were injuries to all four players but didn’t comment as to whether any of them would be fit to return against Sociedad this week.
“It was three injuries,” he said.
“Actually, we had four with Patrice Evra taking a knock just before half-time.
“Jonny Evans’ back seized up, Rafael has gone over on his ankle and Tom Cleverley had double vision.”
Rafael has already suffered a hamstring injury this season so it is really unlucky for the Brazilian to go over on his ankle like he did. United have struggled this season when Rafael has been injured so hopefully he will be able to return in time for Arsenal next weekend.
As for Tom Cleverley, Jonny Evans and Patrice Evra, hopefully it was more a case of precaution than anything and they will all be fit to face Sociedad in our trip to Spain.
