Bebe has suffered a major setback on his loan spell at Portuguese side Pacos de Fereira as he suffered a dislocated collarbone this weekend.
The 23-year-old had been enjoying a lot of minutes out in Portugal having completed 90 minutes in seven out of nine games with Pacos this season including three Europa League appearances but he looks set for a spelt on the sidelines after his collarbone injury.
Last year, Bebe made the most of his loan spell at Rio Ave where he impressed and despite Pacos sitting at the bottom of the Portuguese league, he is at least gaining the experience of first team football.
Sir Alex Ferguson believed that Bebe was technically good enough as a player to score 20 goals a season and while we all want to believe him, that comment has proved to be a bit wide of the mark so far but given that United forked out £7 million on Bebe, we aren’t ready to give up on him yet.
He improved on his loan spell at Rio Ave and up until his injury this weekend, Bebe has been playing quite well for Pacos so it is a shame that he will now have to restart after his injury. Back to baby steps for Bebe.
