Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s Molde have won the Norwegian cup today after overcoming Rosenborg in a thrilling 4-2 final.
It means that Solskjaer has now picked up three trophies in three years with Molde. Prior to his arrival, they hadn’t won a a league title and this victory in the cup was the first time they had achieved it since 2005.
“It was a great match,” Solskjaer proclaimed after the full time whistle.
“Even though we were down, we knew the crowd were enjoying the match.
“When they went up 2-1 we thought they could’ve finished it off. But in the end it became very good to be Molde manager.”
I cannot wait to see Solskjaer back at Old Trafford in a coaching role in the future alongside Giggs, Scholes, Neville and Butt.
Alongside Solskjaer, Mats Moller Daehli has secured silverware within three months of leaving Manchester United for Norway. His move away from Old Trafford has certainly been vindicated but let’s hope that United did put a good buy back clause into his contract.
Well done Ole and Mats.
AND SOLSKJAER HAS WON IT! (again)
