Manchester United duo Will Keane and Tom Lawrence have both left the club on loan deals to Wigan Athletic and Carlisle United respectively just before the emergency loan window closed.
The deal to take Keane to Wigan had been in the pipeline all week and the 20-year-old striker will now join Nick Powell under the guidance of Owen Coyle until New Year’s Eve at least.
If his impact can be as positive as Powell’s has been, then it will be a great move for Keane but just the fact that he is ready for a loan deal so soon after returning from a long term injury is fantastic.
Meanwhile, Lawrence will join Ben Amos at Carlisle in League One. There hadn’t been any murmurs of a loan deal for Lawrence but a deal that will see him remain with Carlisle until 4 January will be great for his progression.
It is his first loan spell away from Carrington but every player needs to have these if they are to have any chance of breaking into United’s first team, so hopefully he can take it in his stride.
