Ben Amos (Carlisle United) – Amos was between the sticks for Carlisle in a 4-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers which saw his fellow United loanee Tom Lawrence bag a brace. Unfortunately Amos wasn’t able to claim a clean sheet. Rovers grabbed a late consolation goal through Ryan Lowe with a back post header less than ten minutes from full time.
Tyler Blackett (Blackpool) – Blackett was an unused substitute in Blackpool’s 2-0 defeat at home to QPR.
Jesse Lingard (Birmingham City) – Lingard played 75 minutes in Birmingham’s 2-0 away victory over Bournemouth. The Blues took an early lead. Lingard was involved in their second goal. Lee won the ball in the middle of the park and found Lingard who split the Bournemouth defence with an inch-perfect through-ball into Zigic’s path. He was subbed in the 75th minute.
Michael Keane (Derby County) – Michael was brought on in the 88th minute as Derby County were 2-0 up away from home against Charlton. He helped them keep that scoreline and Derby secured the three points.
Federico Macheda (Doncaster Rovers) – Kiko played 83 minutes in Doncaster’s 3-0 loss to Leeds United. It was a very quiet afternoon for him. His best chance came in the 57th minute when Quinn put in a cross that Robinson headed down for Kiko but Kenny did well to get down to save his low shot. He was replaced by Coppinger in the 83rd minute as Rovers were trailing 2-0.
Ryan Tunnicliffe (Ipswich Town) – Tunnicliffe started his second consecutive match in a three man midfield. It was a very quiet match for Tunnicliffe. Ipswich played out a 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest.
Marnick Vermijl (NEC Nijmegen) – Vermijl played the full match in NEC’s 4-3 victory over Roda JC. NEC were unlucky not to have taken the lead in the opening five minutes. They missed their chance but Roda were more clinical and ten minutes later were 2-0 up. Vermijl started NEC’s comeback just 37 seconds after the half time restart. He linked up well with Soren Rieks for a one two which put him through in the box and he finished well. That started a flurry of goals for NEC and 20 minutes later they were leading 4-2. Roda pulled a goal back four minutes from time to make for a nervous finish but NEC held out for a 4-3 victory.
Angelo Henriquez (Real Zaragoza) – Henriquez was an unused substitute in Real Zaragoza’s 1-0 defeat away at Sabadell.
