Manchester United’s injury curse strikes once again

Javier Hernandez picked up an injury in training this week that has ruled him out of Manchester United’s clash against Aston Villa this afternoon, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old was expected to play a more central role for United during the festive period as Robin van Persie is out for four weeks but it looks like Hernandez’s luck is out.

Hernandez joins Van Persie, Vidic, Smalling, Evra, Fellaini and Carrick on the sidelines as our injury list continues to grow ahead of the busiest football schedule of the season.

For Hernandez, hopefully it is nothing more than a minor injury and he won’t be ruled out for too long because in his absence, United only have two fit strikers in Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.

Ahead of the World Cup, Hernandez needs game time and Van Persie’s absence looked like the perfect opportunity for him to get more first team action but United really aren’t having much luck with injuries this season.
