David Moyes has admitted that Manchester United may not make any signings in January because the players he would like to sign simply won’t be available.
United have struggled a lot this season in the absence of Michael Carrick because of how poor our midfield options are and January was seen as a time where reinforcements could be brought in to bolster the squad to get our Premier League season back on track.
However, it is notoriously difficult to make big signings in January as it is halfway through the season and it seems Moyes is bracing himself for the prospect of not buying anybody because of it.
“We’ll look, but I’m not massively sure we’ll bring someone in,” he said.
“A lot of the players we’re looking at won’t be available in Jan.”
This isn’t what United fans wanted to hear as January reinforcements were seen as a necessity after the summer failure to bring in players that United needed in order to keep up with the rest of the Premier League.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that United are not going to make any signings but there is a possibility that Moyes may simply wait until the summer to make sure he buys the right players rather than panic buys.
