Brazil’s star man admits he’d choose Manchester United move over Real Madrid

by Sam Peoples

Everton Ribeiro has admitted he would choose to move Manchester United over Real Madrid if given both options.

The 24-year-old playmaker, who was named Player of the Year in the 2013 Brazilian league for his contribution to Cruzeiro’s title, has already opened negotiations with United over a possible transfer.

Officially named the creative player in Brazil this year, Ribeiro will soon participate in the Copa Libertadores and speaking to Globoesporte in Brazil, he admitted that there is only one team he wants to play for if he could choose.

When asked whether he would reject a move to Real Madrid in order to join United, he said: “Yes I would like it more.

“The structure they have there is one of the best in the world. There were more than five pitches on the training ground, I was impressed. I have already visited for a lecture with Sir Alex Ferguson.”

Ribeiro is confident he could fit into any midfield position at United and our Brazilian correspondent Daniel Sant’Anna believes he is ready to join United.

United are spoilt for choice when it comes to a No. 10 type player with Wayne Rooney, Shinji Kagawa and now Adnan Januzaj all capable of playing in that position but at a reported €10 million, he could be great value for money.

Also, the fact that he openly admitted he’d prefer a move to United than Madrid puts him in great stead with fans already.

Comfortable across all three attacking positions and according to the player himself comfortable playing in central midfield too, Ribeiro may well become one of Moyes’ first signings.
