Juventus coach leaves Nani move for his directors and discusses Pogba rumours

by Sam Peoples

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has refused to comment on their interest in signing Nani this year and deflected that responsibility onto Juventus’ directors.

Nani has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus in the past and although he signed a new five-year contract with United in September, the links have continued this season.

The Portuguese winger has endured a stop start campaign thanks in no small part to injuries and hasn’t featured since the 1-0 loss against Newcastle on 7 December but despite that, Conte has refused to fuel the speculation he could move to Juventus.

He said: “Nani? I’m the coach. For these things there are (director Beppe) Marotta and (sporting director Fabio) Paratici.”

Many saw Nani’s new contract as a new lease of life for the 28-year-old but the cynical eye would see the contract as nothing more than a way to guarantee a good fee if he were to be sold this summer.

I still think that Nani is the most talented winger we have in our squad and to let him go would be a bad idea unless we immediately reinvested and brought in another top class winger to replace him.

Conte also refused to comment on reports that Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo could leave in the summer. “These questions must be put to Marotta. I only think of training,” he said.

Pogba only left United in order to secure more first team opportunities and money. If United were to sell Nani to Juventus, would it open the possibility of us bringing him back to Old Trafford?

He’d certainly get the opportunities and money he was after as David Moyes has the funds to bring in a top class central midfielder as soon as possible to United.

Would you sell Nani to Juventus if it meant we could sign Paul Pogba back?
