Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has hinted that Nick Powell is likely to stay at Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season after having fresh talks with David Moyes.
The 19-year-old has scored eight goals in a fantastic season so far with Wigan where he has become a regular starter but David Moyes hinted that he could call some loan players back in January to join up with Manchester United’s first team. However, it looks like Powell will remain in the Championship.
“I have had more good dialogue with David Moyes and I know where we are,” Rosler told the Wigan Evening Post.
“That’s all I can say for now. But look at my face – I am smiling – so that tells you it’s not the worst news. That says something.”
There is no confirmation that Powell won’t return but Rosler sounds confident that he will remain at Wigan for the time being.
Powell could certainly have done a job for United’s first team if he returned but it could potentially be better for his career in the long term if he has a full year of first team football at this young age before being thrown into the squad at United.
Do you think Nick Powell should return to Manchester United or remain on loan this season?
