Manchester United’s injury troubles have continued to get worse as Nani and Ashley Young have become the latest two players to be sidelined through injury.
There is a real concern about Nani as David Moyes has confirmed that the Portuguese winger suffered a serious hamstring injury and that type of injury can keep a player sidelined for months.
“Nani has a serious hamstring injury he picked up in training that is going to keep him out for quite a while,” he said.
Last year, Nani had no luck with injuries and it is a trend that has continued into this season. After signing a five year deal, it was hoped he could get back to his best form but it hasn’t worked out for him so far under Moyes.
As for Young, his injury sounds less severe as it is just bruising suffered after Hugo Lloris’ assault on him last week. However, he is ruled out of the Swansea game but could return for Sunderland in midweek.
The pair of them join the likes of Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Rafael and Marouane Fellaini on the sidelines. Right now, we are being stretched to the limits in terms of being able to cope with injuries.
