Manchester United have held preliminary talks with Dinamo Bucharest over the signing of Dorin Rotariu in the January.
Reports emanating from Romania suggest that United have bid £3 million for the winger but that any advance for him would be flatly rejected due to circumstances with the player meaning that any fee accepted in January would have to split 50% between his current and previous owners.
The 18-year-old is one of many youngsters we have been linked with this year but it has been the first time that any report has said we had made a move to try and sign them. Gazeta Sporturilor suggest that United made an original enquiry as far back as Shakhtar Donetsk,
Right now, United’s winger situation is awful with everyone apart from Adnan Januzaj struggling to find form. Nani and Ashley Young are both injured and Antonio Valencia still cannot find his feet again at Old Trafford.
However, as poor as our senior wingers are playing at the moment, it is unlikely an unproven 18-year-old would walk straight into the line-up but like Januzaj did, there is a chance Rotariu could follow a similar plan.
