Angelo Henriquez (Real Zaragoza) – Henriquez was not involved in Zaragoza’s squad for their 3-2 win over Sporting Gijon away from home. He had a fever during the week and missed training after being advised to return home. He has received treatment and now it’s a question of waiting to see what happens.
Nick Powell (Wigan Athletic) – Powell was not in Wigan’s squad for their FA Cup tie against MK Dons. There’s no information on why he wasn’t included. Rosler has been rotating his squad over the busy Christmas period but Powell has recently had a hamstring injury and also had a problem with his back in their last match against Derby County. Wigan drew 3-3 with MK Dons.
Tom Lawrence (Carlisle United) – Lawrence played 83 minutes in League One Carlisle’s FA Cup tie with Sunderland. He had a good game against the Premier League side. Sunderland took the lead but Carlisle pulled a goal back before they conceded two late goals to knock them out of the FA Cup.
Michael Keane (Derby County) – Michael played the full match as Derby took on Chelsea in the FA Cup. Chelsea fielded a strong side and Michael was part of the defence that stood strong and kept them out for 66 minutes. Chelsea were forced to bring on Hazard and Torres to help them break down the strong Derby defence but goals from Mikel and Oscar sent Derby out of the FA Cup.
Ryan Tunnicliffe (Ipswich Town) – Tunnicliffe was brought on in the 78th minute with Ipswich drawing 1-1 against Preston North End. Although his introduction helped Ipswich become more positive in their play, the scoreline remained the same.
Bébé (Paços de Ferreira) – Bébé played the full match in Paços 2-1 defeat in the Portuguese Cup against CD Aves. Paços dominated the first half and Bébé gave them the lead in the 43rd minute. Paços remained dominant but Aves scored against the run of play in the 72nd minute. Paços were left shaken by the goal and ten minutes later conceded again. They lost 2-1 and were eliminated from the cup.
