David Moyes makes his stance on Wilfried Zaha clear

by Sam Peoples

David Moyes will not let Wilfried Zaha rejoin Crystal Palace on loan this January after Tony Pulis confirmed he had an approach for the winger rebuffed.

The 21-year-old has played a bit part role in the first half of the season for Manchester United with Moyes choosing to let him settle into his new environment rather than playing him in more games.

Moyes indicated earlier in the season that he would be willing to listen to loan offers for Zaha if he still wasn’t playing come January but he has no intention of letting him go back to his former club Palace.

“We’ve spoken to David Moyes about Zaha and I don’t think he’s too keen on him coming back to London,” Pulis said.

“It’s not a problem for us, he’s a Manchester United player. We don’t think it’s a goer, although we were very keen if there was a possibility to take him on.”

I think that United cannot let Zaha go out on loan because of how important he could become in the second part of the season and Moyes’ straight refusal of Palace’s approaches indicates he may share the sentiment.

Going back to the club he joined United from, even on a short term loan basis, would be a step backwards for Zaha and Moyes is right to reject it. Of course, there are other clubs interested in Zaha and he may still leave on loan but at a time where United’s wingers are so poor, Zaha could make a real difference at Old Trafford if given the opportunity.
