Winger confirms meeting with Manchester United officials as move gathers pace

Dinamo Bucharest winger Dorin Rotariu has confirmed he met with Manchester United officials this week as we move forward in our pursuit of the talented youngster.

United already held preliminary talks with Rotariu this month over a potential transfer for a reported €3 million and now officials have visited the 18-year-old in Bucharest to learn a little bit more about him as a person.

“It was a meeting in Bucharest with Manchester United officials where we talked about two hours,” he said according to Sport.ro.

“They wanted to get to know me personally, to see what kind of man I am and my character as we talked about more things than just football.

“They have shown me I have their attention and that they will continue to monitor. This ambition motivates me.

“When a club the size of Manchester United has you in sight, you can only be proud. Honestly, I did not expect it to happen so soon but I tell you I will not let it go to my head.

“I’ll focus more on every game and I give everything in training. I feel very well at Dinamo and I want to win trophies here. The cup is an important goal for me and my colleagues.”

Rotariu is Dinamo’s top scorer this season with six goals in all competitions and United are cleary very keen on keeping a close look on his progress in Bucharest.

It isn’t known whether United are interested in a January move for Rotariu but given that he is playing first team football there, it could be in our best interest to secure a deal now and loan him straight back to Dinamo.

Either way, our scouts are working around Europe to bring in some fresh talent to our academy which can only be a good thing.
