Anderson is on the verge of joining Fiorentina

by Sam Peoples

Anderson will become the first Manchester United player to be sold by David Moyes in a deal that will see him join Italian side Fiorentina, according to the Daily Mail

Moyes has made it quite clear that the 25-year-old isn’t in his plans as he hasn’t featured for United since December 7 despite Michael Carrick‘s injury leaving a midfield spot open in the side.

Nothing is yet agreed but the Daily Mail believes that United could recuperate up to half of the £17 million we paid for Anderson back in 2007 which would be a fantastic bit of business by all accounts for United.

Even if Anderson does not complete a move to Fiorentina, you get the impression it is only a matter of time before Moyes does sell him. The fact he hasn’t even been in the match day squad for the past two matches is an indication of how little faith Moyes has in his ability to perform.

At 25, Anderson can hit the reset button on his career with a move somewhere else and I hope he can turn his misfortune with injuries around. When he arrived, there was a real buzz of excitement but he never lived up to expectations due to injuries and a questionable work ethic. If he can solve both of those problems, there is every chance he can become a fantastic midfielder again.
