Manchester United have been ruled out of the race for Kurt Zouma’s signature as it is down to a three-horse race between Inter Milan, Chelsea and Monaco his agent David Venditelli has confirmed.
The 19-year-old St-Etienne defender has been linked with a move to United and is widely considered to be one of the best defensive prospects in Europe.
A hot headed defender who is currently serving a ten, yes ten, game ban after a reckless tackle left his opponent with a broken leg, Zouma is already a France Under-21 international but United have been ruled out of a move for him by his agent.
“Serie A is an interesting destination, as are Inter, for the tactical growth of the lad,” Venditelli said.
“Of course he wouldn’t mind moving to the Premier League, hopefully to Chelsea, where he could work with Jose Mourinho or to Monaco in Ligue 1.
“There were other sides interested, such as Newcastle, but now it’s a three-horse race.”
United are going to be in the market for a new centre back in the next couple of years because Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand won’t be with the club for too much longer.
Even though we would boast the likes of Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling in the squad, we’ll neeed to bring in a new face. We were in for fellow French teenage defender Raphael Varane before he decided to move to Real Madrid instead but it looks like we won’t repeat the chase with Zouma.
