Phil Neville spotted in Spain on scouting La Liga scouting mission

Phil Neville was in the stands as Rayo Vallecano beat Getafe 1-0 today according to reports from a journalist who was at the match.

While it remains unknown as to who Neville was taking a look at, The Mirror believes that he may have had his eyes on 19-year-old attacking midfielder Saul Niguez, currently on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Given that United had a late kick-off against Swansea yesterday, the fact that Neville flew to Spain in time for an 11am kick-off indicates there was a real sense of urgency to watch somebody in action.

David Moyes has reiterated on multiple occasions that United were looking to be active in the January transfer window but that it all depended on player availability and one thing is for sure – United are keeping themselves very busy during this transfer window.

Aside from Neville being in Spain, reports from Italy also suggest that United have sent scouts today to watch Cagliari’s Davide Astori in action.
