Current and old Manchester United players were quick to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo on deservedly winning the Ballon d’Or for the first time in five years.
The 28-year-old won the trophy back in 2008 after winning the Premier League and Champions League double with United but has had to sit in Lionel Messi’s shadow for years until tonight.
Despite not winning any silverware, Ronaldo had an unbelievable year as he scored 66 goals in 56 appearances and single handedly dragged Portugal to the World Cup.
It’s great to see Ronaldo getting the trophy he has worked so hard to win. Well done Ronnie. Here’s what some players said to congratulate him.
