Anderson was spotted in the airport before his flight to Florence today in order to complete his move to Fiorentina from Manchester United on an expected loan with a view to permanent deal in the summer.
The 25-year-old will become the first departure from United since David Moyes took over and will end a seven year association with the club, so long as there are no complications at this point with his medical.
Fiorentina have already completed the signing of AC Milan’s Alessandro Matri and, pending a successful medical, Anderson will become their second midfield signing this January.
When Anderson arrived as a sprightly, stocky, braided 18-year-old Brazilian, there was a real air of expectation and his performance away at Anfield showcased why he won the coveted 2008 Golden Boy trophy, awarded to the most promising youngster in football.
However, it never quite worked out the way everybody had hoped as persistent injuries marred his progress as did a lack of effort to make the most of his time at Old Trafford on occasions.
We’ll miss having you around Andesron but for the club and Anderson himself moving foward, letting him leave is the right move by David Moyes.
