OFFICIAL: Manchester United confirm club record agreement for Juan Mata

Manchester United have officially confirmed a club record transfer fee has been agreed with Chelsea for Juan Mata.

The 24-year-old will now undergo a medical and will have to agree on personal terms before he is officially unveiled as a United player.

No fee has been openly discussed by either club but it is believed to be in the region of £37 million which will smash United’s record transfer fee by nearly £7 million set back when we signed Dimitar Berbatov.

Panic over people. Mata is officially a United player so long as he passes his medical which may well happen tomorrow.

So long as everything goes smoothly, Mata will be a United player in time to go staight into the squad to face Cardiff on Tuesday and his arrival is going to be an injection of steroids into the arm of United’s Premier League campaign.

Welcome to Manchester, Juan.
