Fabio has completed a medical at St. George’s Park ahead of a permanent move to Cardiff City according to Sky Sports News.
The 23-year-old will end his five-year tenure as a Manchester United player this week and if everything goes through as expected, Fabio could go straight into the squad to face United on Tuesday.
If that happens, it means he could square up against his brother Rafael as he has served his three match suspension for the red card against Swansea.
When Fabio arrived with his twin brother back in 2008, he was the player who came with the most expectation but unfortunately for him, he failed to progress at the same pace that Rafael did because of the opportunities that he was given.
While Rafael joined at the tail end of Gary Neville’s career, Fabio found himself firmly behind Patrice Evra who was one of the world’s best left backs at his prime. As a consequence, he has never been able to fully spread his wings.
At Cardiff, he will finally get that chance. Fabio will leave with nothing but warm memories from United fans and hopefully he can go on to show us that he can become a top quality left back.
