Manchester United reject offer from Paris St Germain to buy Adnan Januzaj

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have rejected an offer from Paris St Germain for Adnan Januzaj in the January transfer window according to Daniel Taylor from The Guardian

PSG were sniffing around the heels of Januzaj back before he signed his new five-year deal with United and it looks like they have not dropped their interest in him.

However, PSG were flatly rejected and told there is no room to negotiate because of how important Januzaj can become in the fullness of time for United.

This may be the first time that an official offer has been lodged for the 18-year-old but it most certainly won’t be the last and United will likely have to fend off interest for Januzaj on a yearly basis because he has all the ability to become one of the best players in the world.

Given that an attacker’s prime age is considered to be 28, Januzaj still has ten years of growth ahead of him and if he is this good already at this age, it is quite scary to think just how good he can become if he continues to progress at the speed he has in the past 12 months.

Januzaj has insisted that he has the ambition to stay with the club for his whole career and although his agent has said he is considering his options, there is an underlying hope that Januzaj will indeed stay at United for so long that he becomes part of the furniture.

PSG might have all the money in the world but to a player who isn’t driven by wealth like Januzaj is, simply playing football where he loves will always be the most important thing.
