Manchester United have taken four youngsters on trial including Brazilian youngster Julian Chicco who represented Argentina’s Under-15s last year.
As well as Chicco, another Brazilian, a Costa Rican and a Dutch youngster also came over to Carrington to take part in a trial according to Club Centro Social
All four players will be watched over by the staff at Carrington and put through their paces with a collection of drills and practice matches. Chicco’s future was always deemed to be with Boca Juniors but United offered him a trial and he couldn’t turn it down.
A trial is the first stepping stone for any foreign youngster as it is the gateway into potentially one of the best academies in the world but as Brazilian youngster Bruno Gomes showed, having a successful trial isn’t enough to secure any youngster a place in the academy.
United have a history of bringing South American potential to Old Trafford having signed the likes of the Da Silva twins and Angelo Henriquez from that region, so our scouts are always on the lookout for new talent.
