David Moyes has insisted Manchester United’s January business has been completed and that we will not be signing any more players in the current window.
It means that Juan Mata‘s £37 million arrival will be the only player added to the squad until Moyes can try to buy the players who are his top targets in the summer.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Moyes said: “You can stand down your TV cameras at the gates. I don’t think they’ll be required. We’ve done our business.”
Although there will be no incoming transfers, Moyes admitted there were some younger players at United who could leave on loan in order to gain first team experience.
He added: “We have a few young players who’ll go on loan before the window closes. We hope they get experience and become better for it.”
A host of young players including Tom Thorpe, Will Keane and Larnell Cole have been linked with loan spells away from the club and it will be an opportunity for them to progress. They all deserve loan spells, especially Thorpe who has been fantastic as our captain with the Under-21s.
