Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole have left Manchester United on permanent transfers to Premier League side Fulham.
They have both signed three and a half-year deals with the option of another year.
Tunnicliffe, a former Academy Player of the Year, had spent the early part of the season on loan with Ipswich Town but was recalled by United on amid speculation he’d be joining Fulham.
An aggressive midfield all-rounder, Tunnicliffe is a player of obvious passion, grit and determination. He was part of the midfield alongside Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison who won the FA Youth Cup in 2011. He was also part of the squad that won the Under-21 Premier League title last season.
He had previous loan spells at Peterborough United and Barnsley and went on loan to Ipswich at the start of this season where he made 27 appearances and started all but two of their 26 matches. He showed his versatility as he was initially deployed on the left-wing before becoming a mainstay in a three-man midfield.
Larnell Cole was last season’s top scorer for the Under-21s. He scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in the semi-final and followed that up with two goals in the final to help secure the Under-21 Premier League trophy.
Cole can play anywhere across the midfield but mainly plays on the right hand side of midfield. He is a quick, skillful player who, as shown by his goals at crucial times, can be a match winner.
Strangely he was never loaned to another club even though he made a senior appearance for United in the League Cup in the 2011/12 season. His departure will be a case of what might have been for many United fans.
