Manchester United loan round-up: Bebe scores brilliant goal after fine run

by Tracey Germaine

Marnick Vermijl (NEC Nijmegen) – Vermijl started his 17th consecutive Eredivise match for NEC as they took on NAC Breda. He played the full match as they drew 1-1.

Bébé (Paços de Ferreira) – Bébé played the full match of Paços 3 -1 win over Olhanense which took them off the bottom of the Portuguese League. He played on the left side of a three-pronged attack and his pace caused major problems for Olhanense’s defence. He scored Paços second goal in the added time of the first half after a solo run down the left hand flank.

Anderson (Fiorentina) – Anderson came on in the  76th minute as Fiorentina took on Udinese in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final as they were tied 1-1. Not long after he came on, Udinese scored their second and Anderson didn’t have enough time to turn the game around for Fiorentina.

Sam Byrne (Carlisle United) – Byrne played the full match for Carlisle’s reserves as they took on Wigan. Although Wigan won the match 2-1. Sam Byrne gave Graham Kavanagh the most food for thought ahead of their weekend game with their only goal with a beautifully timed header. He showed great energy and attitude as well as a getting into good goal-scoring positions.

Kieran O’Hara (Trafford) – O’Hara was between the sticks as Trafford slipped to a 2-1 defeat away at AFC Fylde. O’Hara was doing well but he was beaten when the ball hit off the head of one of his defenders and went in for an own goal.  Minutes later, Fylde’s lead was doubled when another header hit the back of the net. O’Hara didn’t let that affect him and even though Fylde went on to dominate the game with excellent play he made a series of outstanding saves. Although Trafford pulled a goal back, they couldn’t get a result.
