Jones had been sidelined with concussion while Fellaini was out with a groin injury and given that Steve Sidwell managed to win man of the match against United at the weekend, the return of either would be a bonus.
Starting away at Arsenal against an energetic and creative midfield will probably be too much to ask of Fellaini but Jones could be the perfect remedy for United right now.
It’s a damning reality when you realise that a centre-back has been our best midfielder this season but Jones’ energy, commitment and determination bring a steel to the midfield that nobody else in the squad can. Up against Arsenal, who love to play through the middle, our defence will need the protection of Jones.
Tomorrow is going to be a tough game but our performance against Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier this season was fantastic. When we played them, Arsenal were on a real high yet a disciplined game saw us win 1-0, so there is no reason why United can’t do the same tomorrow.
We might be in a bad place right now due to recent results but never write United off against Arsenal and although the return of Jones doesn’t solve our midfield problems by a long shot, his inclusion should at least stop us from being overrun.
