GIF: Moyes’ furious reaction to negative approach by Manchester United against Arsenal

When Manchester United attacked Arsenal in the dying seconds at the Emirates on Wednesday night, there was a chance we might have been able to snatch a victory.

However, the players decided not to take the gamble and instead decided to keep possession – much to the frustration of David Moyes on the touch-line.

He was visibly dismayed by the decision not to try and take the opportunity.

In a game of tight margins and drilled defensive displays, it was a disappointment we didn’t at least attempt to mount an attack.

Fans were left frustrated by United not mustering up one last attack out of it and it’s a small comfort that Moyes was too. He wanted United to attack and try to win the game rather than see out the draw.

Chasing the win in almost every circumstance is the United way. It was what made us such a dangerous team to face in the last 15 minutes of any game under Sir Alex Ferguson and Moyes’ frustration at least indicates that is a trait he is familiar with.

So far under Moyes, we’ve been more famous for conceding late goals than scoring them but if we can find that sort of defensive performance more regularly and sort out our misfiring attack, that should swing back in our favour.
