Jesse Lingard has taken a giant step towards becoming a part of Manchester United’s senior squad as David Moyes took him with the first team to Dubai this week.
The 21-year-old was so impressive for United during the pre-season, many fans expected to see him blooded into the first team straight away in much the same fashion as Adnan Januzaj was.
However, it is clear that Moyes has genuine faith,in Lingard’s abilities because he chose not to send him out on loan in January, allowed him to travel with the first team on some match days this season and now through giving him a place on this warm weather break.

Regular followers of United’s Under-21s know how much Lingard deserves his opportunity with the first team because he has been very consistent over the past few years and needs to get his chances before it is too late and he looks elsewhere on a permanent basis.
Lingard was United’s top scorer in the pre-season and scored a record four goals on his loan debut at Birmingham, so he has certainly found a knack for goalscoring this season and as Januzaj has shown Moyes, sometimes taking a punt on a youngster can prevail.
