Manchester United had a January bid for Tottenham Hotspur’s Andros Townsend rejected according to sources close to Townsend and his agent.
Back on 31 January, United were credited with an interest in Townsend but up until now, nothing further was said about the subject. Now that December past, reportedly we had a bid rejected in January.

The 22-year-old put himself into the spotlight with a brilliant debut against England but has since gone off the boil thanks to injuries and only made his first start for Tottenham since December last night in the 1-0 loss FC Dnipro after recovering from a hamstring injury – a game in which he wasn’t able to make the difference.
Townsend has been touted as a potential long-term replacement for Ashley Young or Nani but he is very much like Darron Gibson in that he does have a wicked shot on him, but it’ll take ten wild attempts before he scores a pearler. What United need now is someone who is world-class and consistent, Townsend wouldn’t offer that.
Up until this point, there has been no confirmation either way from either club that an offer for Townsend was made.
