Arturo Vidal was interviewed by Chilean radio station Radio Cooperativa last week and questioned about his future at Juventus among other things.
The 26-year-old was also quizzed on Real Madrid’s interest in signing him and Vidal admitted he was flattered by their interest but didn’t wish to take the speculation any further.
“I’m fine in Juventus and I’m working hard to achieve all my goals,” he said.
“The interest of Real Madrid – it flatters me but as I say, I just think to give my best with Juventus and Chile.”
There was no mention of Manchester United’s longstanding interest in him.
Given that David Moyes has watched him play from the stands this season and the press have linked him with a move to United for a while, it seems strange that the interest was simply ignored.
They were fully aware of United’s interest as it was covered by them back in January and it is indication that United’s interest in Vidal is either not serious or strong enough to be discussed.
Real Madrid have been the bane of United with some recent transfer targets including Luka Modric, Raphael Varane, Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema as players have all chosen moves to the Bernabeu instead of Old Trafford – and there is every chance that the same thing could happen to Vidal if he were to leave Juventus in the summer.
