Gary Neville expects Manchester United to sign four or five players

Gary Neville had a Q+A session on Twitter last night for an hour where he invited his followers to ask him any questions they wanted to.

From being asked whether he would like to go into management in the future to whether he kept his ketchup in the fridge or cupboard, Neville answered plenty of random questions and when quizzed on how many players he thinks Manchester United will sign this summer, he said:

Four or five sounds like a fair estimate because Manchester United need to strengthen in so many positions.

We need at least two central midfielders, one left-back, one winger and potentially a new centre back in order to transform this squad into one that can really compete with the best teams in the Premier League and Europe.

Without that level of big investment in the summer, United would more than likely suffer another season of mediocrity because our current squad simply isn’t strong enough to compete as has been proven this year.

United failed in the 2013 summer transfer window and it was a prelude to this terrible season – we can’t afford to make that same mistake twice.

Neville was also asked to describe his celebration after Paul Scholes scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad…
