PICTURE: Nani returns to training and could potentially feature against Liverpool

Manchester United have been boosted by Nani’s return to training ahead of our game against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Portuguese winger has not featured for Manchester United since December 7 against Newcastle with a hamstring injury.

He was originally set to return at the start of February but suffered a further set back that has kept him out of action until now.

The last goal that Nani scored this season was his wonderful effort away to Bayer Leverkusen that wrapped up the 5-0 win.

The game against Liverpool this weekend is probably too early for Nani to return and given the form of Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj and Wayne Rooney, competition for places was fierce anyway.

Nani has had a terrible couple of seasons with injury and has only made a total of 19 Premier League appearances for Manchester United in that time frame, so he must be chomping at the bit to make a full recovery after this latest injury.

Every team needs a game-changer in their squad and Nani is exactly that for United. When he’s cold, he’s terrible but when he is on form, he can turn a game on its head in an instant. Hopefully, between now and the end of the season, we see the latter version of Nani return.
